舉世聞名的大提琴家馬友友，
1955年生於巴黎。
自幼即展現不凡的音樂天賦。
他說：「 從小我就被教導要講禮貌、
尊重他人，不要總以個人私利為出發點，
要知曉自己行為對周遭環境的影響。」
他也曾說: 「 人類只有透過對文化的理解，
才能驅動人類生活三大引擎 :
政治, 經濟, 文化的正常運行. 」
他認為藝術的創造，
包括音樂、美術、文學、
電影等等的使命，
更重要的是對個體生命的
存在予以支持和充實，
舒緩痛苦，傳遞生命力，
賦予人們平衡的心境。
藝術打開了我們對
不同現實的想象之窗，
使我們得以在不同思維空間裡神游，
在這個過程中使我們恢復活力，
重拾希望。
顯見這位音樂家對於
人文藝術的體認, 熱忱與努力
給予社會莫大啓發，
也造就他的卓越與不凡。
