緬懷父親 - Memory of father

 

「 嚴以律己，寬以待人 」

是父親留給我們的訓誡。

也是他一生持守的做人處事生活態度。

小時候

他厚實的手常緊緊牽著我慢慢走。

記得有一個週末，

他帶我去他的辦公室。

看他專注整理資料，

我則坐在可旋轉的辦公椅上

開心的玩了一個上午。

然後爸帶我去午餐，

美味可口的台菜令人印象深刻。

回家途中，

沿著麥克阿瑟公路漫步。

我仰望夕陽映照著爸的笑容⋯

當時的他就是我的唯一。

我懷念那單純的幸福與快樂。

 

之後的歲月、成長⋯

覺得自己長大了，

有自己的想法，

有自己的個性。

有時候我們溝通不良，

傷爸的心而不自覺。

然而他從來不會計較，

總是以寬容的愛心

教導我如何成為更好的人。

無論遭遇任何困難，

總是有勇氣與毅力去面對。

從來不怨天尤人。

在我心目中

父親永遠都是善良、正直、慷慨的典範。

「 Be tough on yourself and 

understanding to others 」

It is the admonition that our father left us. 

It is also his attitude toward life.

When I was little,

his thick hands held me tightly

and walked slowly often.

I remember a weekend,

he took me to his office.

Looked at him focus on sorting out 

the information, 

I sat in a swivel office chair 

having a lot of fun.

Then my dad brought me lunch.

DeliciousTaiwanese dishes are impressive. 

On the way home,

walking beside the MacArthur Thruway.

I looked up at the sunset reflected

Dad's smile…

He was the one and only. 

I miss that simple happiness and joy.

Later years, 

I felt grown up 

and grew out of my idea 

also have my own personality. 

Sometimes we were miscommunication  

I hurt Dad's heart without realising it. 

However, he never complained, 

still with much tolerant love to let me know 

how to be a better person.

With great perseverance and courage

no matter what difficulties he encountered.

My father has always been a role model of kindness, integrity, and generosity 

in my mind.
